RANGE RULES

The Board of Directors has established the following rules in an effort to give members and their guests a set of consistent standards and procedures by which to govern their conduct while utilizing the range. The primary focus of these rules is of course, safety!

RANGE SAFETY OFFICER REQUIREMENTS

NRA Range Safety OfficerIn order to use the range un-supervised you must become a Range Safetey Officer.  The Range Safety Officer (RSO) is required to take and pass the NRA Range Safety Officer course and review Frederick Chapter range rules. The Chapter offers this course through out the year.  Each participant will be required to purchase NRA training materials. In exchange for the privilege of opening the range during the week each range officer will have to perform scheduled range officer duties on weekends. The schedule is determined at the start of each calendar year.  Range Safety Officers are required to keep their certification current with the NRA by re-certifing annually.

HUNTING PROCEDURES on CHAPTER PROPERTY 

The Board of Directors has established the following hunting rules and guidelines in an effort to give members and their guests a set of consistent standards and procedures by which to govern their conduct while hunting on the property.  The primary focus of these rules is of course, safety!   

All Members interested in archery hunting in Chapter Property must qualify first. 

The Frederick IWLA has adopted the State of Maryland qualification standards for archery hunting.   Before members are permitted to archery hunt on Chapter property, you must qualify by placing 3 out of 5 arrows on a nine inch plate at 20 yards. Field tips are permitted. You can fulfill this requirement through one of the many qualifications held throughout the state, or at the Chapter. Qualifications will be held each second and third Tuesday of the month ( before chapter and BOD Meetings) from 6 to 7 pm. The target will be witnessed and initialed by a Committee member or his designee. A signed copy of the new procedures and waiver of liability will be provided.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

In the event of an emergency please familiarize and use the following procedures and protocol.  This information is also posted at teh Chpater House. 
Safety Officers are required to keep their certification current with the NRA by re-certifing annually.
